About me
I'm Karina.
I’m an occupational therapist with over 8 years of clinical experience, a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from McGill University, and certification as a trauma-informed pelvic health practitioner. My practice has evolved through working closely with clients and recognizing gaps in care.
After beginning my career in a hospital setting as a hand therapist, I transitioned to private practice, where working with women experiencing postpartum hand injuries revealed broader challenges involving intimacy, body confidence, and mental well-being.
My practice now includes both hand therapy and pelvic health. Over the past several years, my clinical experience has highlighted an important gap in pelvic health care. While physical rehabilitation is essential, symptoms can also be influenced by the nervous system, psychological well-being, past experiences, and everyday demands. Occupational therapy addresses these interconnected factors and their impact on daily activities, relationships, and quality of life. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to supporting the whole person.
Through clinical practice and mentorship, I am committed to advancing the role of occupational therapy in pelvic health care.
