My path

A path that didn't run in a straight line.

My practice has evolved through working closely with clients and recognizing gaps in care.

  1. 2017

    My master's, at McGill

A Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from McGill University: the start of more than 8 years of clinical experience.

  2. 2018

    Then the hand, unexpectedly

I began my career in a hospital, on the inpatient medicine unit. Then I unexpectedly stumbled (headfirst) into a replacement position in hand therapy, a practice area that intimidated me as a graduate student. It became my lighthouse amidst a sea of professional opportunities and uncertainty.

  3. 2022

    What the hand revealed

I transitioned to private practice, where working with women experiencing postpartum hand injuries revealed broader challenges involving intimacy, body confidence, and mental well-being.

  4. 2023

    A gap in care

My practice now includes both hand therapy and pelvic health. Over the past several years, my clinical experience has highlighted an important gap in pelvic health care. I became a certified trauma-informed pelvic health practitioner.

  5. 2026

    Mentorship, and the CAOT

Through clinical practice and mentorship, I am committed to advancing the role of occupational therapy in pelvic health care. In March 2026, the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) recognized pelvic health in a position paper. In May 2026, I presented as part of a group at its annual conference.

My practice today

Supporting the whole person.

While physical rehabilitation is essential, symptoms can also be influenced by the nervous system, psychological well-being, past experiences, and everyday demands.

Occupational therapy addresses these interconnected factors and their impact on daily activities, relationships, and quality of life. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to supporting the whole person.

My McGill profile

For occupational therapists

What I often hear“What? Occupational therapists can do that?!”

And my answer“Yes, yes, we can.”

I am determined to consistently engage in this conversation surrounding the benefits of occupational therapy, because I genuinely see the value in the services we offer.

Pelvic health, an evolving area of OT practice in Canada.

Because it remains relatively unfamiliar within many clinical and educational settings, it is not always clearly recognized as part of occupational therapy's scope. That said, the landscape is beginning to change.

  1. November 2025

A guest on episode 70 of the CAOT podcast, with a fellow Canadian OT working in pelvic health: how we came into this area of practice, the learning curves involved in building confidence in this space, and what it has looked like to grow within a field that continues to develop.

  2. March 2026

The publication of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists' position paper marked an important milestone, formally recognizing pelvic health as an evolving and legitimate scope of occupational therapy practice in Canada.

  3. May 2026

A group presentation at the CAOT Centennial Conference in Montréal: “Occupation-Based Pelvic Health: Expanding Reach, Improving Access.”

Mentorship

Integrate pelvic health into your practice.

Because this perspective is not always emphasized in traditional training, I also enjoy supporting fellow clinicians through mentorship as they develop their own approach to pelvic health care.

If you are an occupational therapist (seasoned or new grad!) looking to confidently integrate pelvic health into your clinical practice, I am pleased to share that I now offer mentorship. This is designed to bridge the gap between theory and real-world application. It's mainly online and individual.

  • Clinical reasoning
  • Confidence
  • Integration in your setting
